#ThrowbackThursday “Up in Ya Face!” Free download. Streaming. LIVE in 2001.

Hey Salad-Heads. Or Crew-tons… This month has been a blast! Grant has been back on Drums for a bunch of super fun shows. This weekend The Salads are in Hamilton on Friday and Kitchener on Saturday. These are our last 2 shows for another month or so. Don’t miss ‘em! Been a long time since we played Kitchener. Really looking forward to both of them. Anyhow, I had a bunch of copyright issues this week with our Soundcloud account. Most of the tunes got pulled down since the wonderful people we used to work with claim that a lot of songs we wrote as little kids don’t belong to us anymore. Ahhh… Musick Business. Going through the files just now I stumbled back across this live track from 2001.

This was shortly after Darren aka Mista D joined the band, and one of the first tunes we ever wrote together. We’ve started playing it LIVE again cuz it’s so damn fun. The solo Davey Z plays in this version is outta this world as well. Good stuff. You can either stream it here or download it for free. Hope you dig it. Come to the shows this weekend! It’s been a crazy party-ride so far and I think we may peak at one of these gigs. The music has been getting intense!!! C ya soon! – @ChuckDailey

#SunnyMonday Thank you St.Patrick. Sorry liver.

Like I said in this song right here, “Another great night last night, but now I think I got a hangover.” haha

Big thanks to everyone who came out to see The Salads and friends at the London Music Hall on Saturday.  This one was our second show with Grant back in the band… and oh what a night!  Thanks to everyone who helped make it a special night!

And we hope you continued your St.Paddy’s celebrations throughout Sunday too.  I managed to get 3 sets of Irish classics in with my St.Paddy’s 8-piece cover band, Wee Tin Can, in Toronto at the Linsmore Tavern.  Another great night… you know the rest. haha ;)

Looking forward to more awesome gigs coming up with The Salads and a bunch of awesome local bands this Friday at the Casbah in Hamilton, and Saturday night at The Hive in Kitchener. Check out the details below! Hope to see you out!

PEACE.1.@MISTADD

#ThrowbackThursday Bromancing the stage, Slapping the drummer, Drinking the beer.

We played at The Grand Stage Music & Arts festival in 2008 alongside Blue Rodeo, Matthew Good, & The Sadies. Our set peaked, and also came to a loving standstill, when Dave and I serenaded the Bromance Slow Dance that was Darren and Darrin. Big D is now moved back to LA exploring his porn career so this hug throwback feels extra special. Miss you already Pfief!

Now that Grant is back in the fold I thought I’d remind you that we need your help with the new band member initiation process. You must help us “brand the man with your hands”. To help you understand your important job better, here is a photo from a photo shoot in 2003 where Grant is happily showing you how it is done.

Finally here is a picture from my desktop that I’m guessing is in Australia somewhere in and around 2006. That’s my best guess anyhow because we are so suntanned, happy, and ready with beer. Except for me of course. Hope I’m okay? Our hair etc looks about right too. This pic is also symbolic of the show we have coming up in London this Saturday. Beers, Cheers, Mates, Music… Our annual London St Pattys Day show! Pretty stoked. Cheers! Seeya then. – @ChuckDailey
