A GINORMOUS THANKS to everyone at the TORONTO PLAYS FOR HAITI benefit show. It was a HUGE success and SO MUCH FUN for THE SALADS to be a part of. Thanks to all the bands and crew involved for being so cooperative and putting any egos aside for a great night. What a blast! WATCH US ON BITE TV! LOOK OUT 2010!!
Gather round Saladheads...Lots to fill you in on... For those of you with cable tv, check us out on BITE TV (Rogers Channel 106 ~ BellTV 530 ~ Cogeco 123) THURS.NOV.12 @ 10PM and again on SAT.NOV.14 @ 10PM. Darren and Darrin got personal with Jason Agnew, and we performed acoustic versions of The Roth Kung Fu, and a new one, Weed+Wine! Check it out!
We are still hard at work on our next album. It's safe to say that it is all written, but half recorded. Trust us when we tell you it will be well worth the wait. ;) Here are a few song titles we're workin' with to give you an idea (subject to change): WEED+WINE, DON'T SAY GOODBYE, LICKITY SPLIT, GO 2 THE KITCHEN, DO U REALLY WANT 2 HURT ME hahaha naw just kiddin' on that one...well, sorta..Heard THIS yet? :)
We were super bummed that our recent gig in Oshawa got cancelled because The Green Bottle randomly shut down, and we are hoping to get back around there again soon..Stay tuned! In the meantime, we DO have some exciting gigs around the area to announce: Dec.18th we will be performing in Newmarket as part of the Olympic Flame Ceremonies at the Magna Center in the morning (around 11AM) and again at The White Rabbit later that evening! And to top it off, our original drummer, Grant Taylor, will be joining us on drums for both shows! More details on that tba anyday! We have also decided to do a BIG NYE SHOW in a small bar/bistro, called The Black Dog, in the small town of Bayfield, ON. Pfeiffer will be on drums as usual, and we just want to have a good time with some good folks and some good beers and our naughty girls (hahaha), so hopefully we'll see you there! The Salads (aka The Sausages) had another awesome time at Dean Blundell's Sausagefest last night! What a great night! If you didn't make it to the show, or hear our first 2 songs live-to-air on The Edge 102.1, keep a look out here as we are hoping to post the tracks for download as soon as we get our paws on em! MORE NEWS FROM THE STUDIO!
We just got back from another few days at Beach Road Studios where we hammered out 2 more songs. It's sounding gooooood! We are editting some footage that will reveal more of the music, but for now watch this video for a good laugh. We were rudely interrupted in the studio by some guy conducting a survey, so we decided to mess with him.

TAKING THE GOOD WITH THE BAD
Sorry, but I gotta start with the bad news... The Salads are extremely sad to have recently lost a dear friend, and former Edge DJ, Martin Streek. Martin played a big part in The Salads' career and became a very dear friend. Our hearts go out to his friends, family, and fans in these tough times. We'll miss you a lot, Martin.
And now for the good news... We had a fantastic Canada Day this year performing outside in Ottawa, and celebrating Dave Z's birthday! Good times! We dragged The Mexican along with us and he made a video montage of his day... Check it out on YouTube here. We hope you're enjoying your summer! See you out there again soon! PEACE!

Hey Saladheads! We just wanted to let you all know that our Canadian friends, Hank & Mike, have finally hit theatres! The Salads' song 2 KOOL 4 SKOOL is in the movie for a while during a great scene. You've gotta see it! It will be in theatres as long as folks continue to go see it, and it is already available on DVD in the U.S. The Canadian DVD will be out this summer. MORE GIGS, RADIO SHOWS, + REDISCOVERED RECORDINGS! poster by Mista D
Hey there folks! We are happy to announce a few new show dates as springtime is getting closer and closer and the weather is warming up all nice! First we will be hitting up Cambridge with our good friend/drummer, LEG$ (NOT Grant as seen on the poster), filling in for Pfeiffer on March 20th for an interview and acoustic radio show performace (details on Facebook here!), AND the following day, on March 21st we will play a BIG SHOW in a little bar downtown Cambridge! Then we have our long-awaited return to CTO in London on April 4th, and then we make a return visit to Brantford, the same venue that marked the last gig of the Bif Naked tour we got kicked off of a few years ago. We can't wait to re-live those beautiful memories! haha! Then we're back to the Hammer (that's Hamilton for those of you not in-the-know) on May 1st. Check out the GIGS section for venues, openers, and further show details!
We have also unearthed some lost cassette recordings that Mista D made while we were on our EAT MY ASS TOUR across Canada in 2003. Thanks to all for coming to our shows this past weekend! It was a blast, as always, playing with GOB. We got to catch up with so many old friends at this show it was amazing. Check out some clips from the show HERE. Thanks again Zeke! The Winter Bash put on by Zack Taylor was a ton of fun as well. We look forward to spitting beer on that drumset again someday! hahaha... We are busy writing music over the next frigid month and then will be in the studio come april. We are working on plans for the release of the new music.
